SARCOM stands for the Search and Rescue Council of Missouri which is an organization comprised of numerous search and rescue teams from all across Missouri that will assist with any natural or man-made disaster or missing person searches within the state as directed by the State Emergency Management Agency known as SEMA.
All members of SARCOM are volunteers of various search and rescue teams in the state of Missouri who will, if called upon, come to the aid of SARCOM and SEMA 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, rain or shine to help return loved ones to their families.
SARCOM is working to establish standards at a State level that will help to ensure that all teams meet a minimum training system that will allow all teams to know that when they are called out to work with other agencies that every member there has the basic abilities and knowledge required to help with the emergency.
